Marin Cilic may have won the Istanbul title on clay and made the quarterfinals of the French Open, but it was the grass season where he really stood out. The Croatian was a deciding-set tiebreak away from winning the Queen's Club crown, and then came his:
Moment of the Year
Cilic made a run all the way to the Wimbledon final by beating Sam Querrey in four sets in the semifinals (after wins over Steve Johnson, Gilles Muller and Roberto Bautista Agut). It marked his second Grand Slam final appearance after winning the US Open in 2014.
Hot Shot of the Year
The 29-year-old lost the final of the Queen's Club Championships to Feliciano Lopez, but not before pulling off a sizzling forehand passing shot:
Outlook for 2018
The big-hitting Cilic might have already maxed out his potential. Still, his huge serve and overall solid baseline game overall will continue to give him a chance to compete among the world's best, especially on grass.
