Meanwhile at the China Open, Dominic Thiem captured his fourth title of the season. On the WTA front, Naomi Osaka continued her run in Asian by claiming Beijing for her second straight title.

Down a set, top-seeded Thiem clawed his way back to fend off Stefanos Tsitsipas, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, in Beijing to claim his fourth title of the year. He also qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals, becoming the fifth player to earn the spot at the 2019 year-end championships.

Qualifier Millman Makes Final
Having saved three match points in this qualifying first-rounder, the 80th-ranked Aussie reached his first career ATP tour-level final in Tokyo, falling to top-seeded Djokovic, 6-3, 6-2.
