Adidas drops London Originals Collection

The 36-piece line that includes apparel, footwear and accessories taps into classic 1970s old-school cool.

The Trefoil is back. For the first time in three decades, the iconic Adidas logo makes its return to Wimbledon. As a featured element in the new London Originals Collection, the symbol helps pay homage to the era-defining style of players like Stan Smith and Billie Jean King who wore the Trefoil on their grass outfits during the tennis boom of the 1970s.

Designed for on-court performance and off-court style, the collection merges traditional style with modern performance. Statement pieces, like pants and a vest for men and a two-piece dress for women, complement everyday essentials such as polos, t-shirts and a pleated skirt. The fabric features the brand’s patented ClimaCool technology to wick sweat away to keep wearers dry throughout the match. Select pieces, such as the Freelift Tee Pro and Polo Pro, are constructed with the more advanced ClimaCool+ for maximum sweat absorption and comfort.

In addition to heritage aesthetics, such as open collars, contrast stitching and grass green accents, the collection introduces unique details like argyle-style patterns and zip pullers featuring a tennis ball motif. Hidden Trefoil-and-tennis-ball tape lining also adorns certain tops, adding to the theme. Complementing the apparel is a line of accessories, including a tennis bag, bucket hat, headband and handbag.

The 36-piece London Originals Collection is currently available at adidas.com, via the adidas app and at select tennis specialty retailers.
