Amanda Anisimova proves to herself "I can do it" with revenge win over Iga Swiatek at US Open
Having lost 6-0, 6-0 to the Pole in July's Wimbledon final, the No. 8 seed emerged with a 6-4, 6-3 win in Wednesday's quarterfinals.

What a difference two months makes!
In her first major final at Wimbledon, Amanda Anisimova was handed down a 6-0, 6-0 defeat by Iga Swiatek.
Getting a shot at a form of Grand Slam redemption, Anisimova impressively turned the tables early Wednesday evening in front of her home fans.
The Freehold Township, N.J. native eliminated the second seed, 6-4, 6-3, breaking Swiatek four times from nine opportunities. On her third match point, the American clinched the victory with some help from a kind net cord that landed out of Swiatek’s reach.
“Playing here is so freaking special. I’ve been having the run of my life here,” Anisimova said on-court afterwards. “This has been such a dream and to come back from Wimbledon like that is really special to me. I feel like I worked so hard to turn around from that. Today proved everything to me. I can do it.
“From the get go, I was trying to fire myself up. She’s one of the toughest players I’ve ever played. I knew I was going to have to dig really deep.”
Anisimova has now reached the last four at three different major events. The 24-year-old awaits the winner of two-time champion Naomi Osaka and two-time semifinalist Karolina Muchova.
