At Indian Wells, Danielle Collins gets her diamonds—courtesy of Jessica Pegula

Collins had teased that diamonds would make for an ideal retirement present; it took less than a week for good friend Pegula to come through at the BNP Paribas Open.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but so is Jessica Pegula.

Danielle Collins shared an extra-special gift on her Instagram story on Wednesday, a diamond necklace designed by Gorjana.

“I asked for some diamonds last week and @jpegula and @gorjana delivered 🥰🥹💕” captioned Collins.

Indeed, the former world No. 7—who has announced that 2024 will be her final season as a professional tennis player—made it clear she was looking for a 24-carat finish to what has been a wildly successful decade on tour, teasing fans at the ATX Open who may want to buy her a retirement present.

“I’m terrible and I ain’t cheap, baby!” the American laughed after defeating Olivia Gadecki last week.

“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, that’s all I’m going to say. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, so if anyone wants to get me some diamonds, I’m going to take them, honey!”

Luckily for Collins, Pegula is ambassador for the SoCal-based jewelry designer, and made a special appearance at their store in Palm Desert before her opening-round match at the BNP Paribas Open.

It turns out the former world No. 3 also did a little shopping.

“Thank you @jpegula for spoiling me!!” Collins wrote.

Can Collins, who has been enjoying a solid run of form in her farewell season, add the Indian Wells Baccarat Trophy to her growing collection of baubles?
