Bacsinszky announces she's engaged

Timea Bacsinszky announced her engagement to Andreas Blattner on Thursday. The Swiss has been dating Blattner for nearly five years.

After finishing 2016 at No. 15, the 28-year-old's 2017 season was hindered by injuries. She underwent surgery after Wimbledon to deal with pain in her right hand.

Bacsinskzy will look for a strong return to the tour in 2018 as an engaged player ranked a still-formidable No. 39.

She won't be alone though, as fellow WTA star Caroline Wozniacki also recently said "yes."
