Biggest ranking jumps in 2024: Osaka, Raducanu, Wozniacki, Anisimova make big moves
Osaka was unranked when she returned to the tour at the start of the year, and finished the year just outside the Top 50.
So far this week we’ve covered the players with the most titles and the most wins on the tour this year, and today we're highlighting the biggest jumps on the ATP and WTA rankings over the last year.
Let’s begin with the biggest jumps between the year-end WTA rankings from last year (November 6, 2023) and this year (November 11, 2024).

There are some very familiar names among the above list, including a pair of former world No. 1s—Osaka and Wozniacki—who were playing their first full seasons since coming back to the tour as moms. Wozniacki made her comeback in the summer of 2023, while Osaka actually returned to action at the start of the 2024 season without a ranking, and both ended up within striking distance of the year-end Top 50.
Raducanu, a former No. 10, nearly got back into the Top 50 herself after an injury-marred 2023, and Anisimova actually did return to the Top 50 after taking an extended break from the sport last year.
The men’s year-end ranking dates the last two years were a few weeks later than the women’s, on December 4, 2023 and December 2, 2024.

Among the biggest movers on the men’s tour in the last year was French up-and-comer Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, who not only reached the second week of a major for the first time at Wimbledon, but also served up his first two ATP titles—first at the ATP 250 clay-court event in Lyon in the spring and then at the ATP 500 indoor event in Basel in the fall.
