Camila Giorgi is back on the tennis scene, with the same high ponytail and a brand-new microphone.

Spotted interviewing players in Argentina during ATP 250 Buenos Aires, this is her first tennis appearance since last May, when the mercurial former Top 20 player silently (at least at first) retired from the WTA circuit.

The 33-year-old's decision to walk away from tennis was revealed last year not with pomp and ceremony, but when her name appeared on the International Tennis Integrity Agency's retired players list.

Conflicting reports later emerged in Italian press shortly after Giorgi filed for retirement that the decision may have been due to tax problems. She later denied this with an interview in October, saying that "many misconceptions" were circulating about her off-court life.

Now, nearly a year later, the one-time top-ranked Italian in the world finds herself back on tour: the ATP tour, that is.

Speaking in Spanish with native speakers, Giorgi is bringing to life β€œunmissable talks, great protagonists and all the passion of tennis,” as translated from Instagram.

Will tennis fans have to wait another year to see her again?
