Carlos Alcaraz earns his driver's license and picks up an unexpected shoutout in the process

After sharing the life event, the 18-year-old received a response from an account boasting 469 million followers.

At 18, Carlos Alcaraz has already showed signs of becoming a driving force on the ATP Tour. Now, the Spaniard be able to carry that same confidence behind the wheel after getting his hands on an all-important teenage essential: a driver’s license.

Alcaraz uploaded a photo on his Instagram celebrating the milestone, writing, “Goal accomplished, I’m already one more on the road.”

The life update pulled in all sorts of responses, including congrats messages from Alex de Minaur and Alex Corretja. But one of note unexpectedly came from a user boasting 469 million followers, the official Instagram brand account.

“Felicidades!” the comment read.

The El Palmar, Murcia native moved up to a career-best No. 29 in the ATP rankings following a third-round effort at the Australian Open, his 2022 season debut. Alcaraz isn’t set to play again until Acapulco stages its popular 500 event, where five Top 10 players—including Australian Open champion Rafael Nadal and runner-up Daniil Medvedev—are currently entered.
