Celebrating No. 19 with Roger Federer
The Swiss dismantled Marin Cilic in the Wimbledon final.
On Sunday at Wimbledon, Roger Federer took hold of Grand Slam No. 19 by setting aside Marin Cilic, 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. At times, the match had Cilic reduced to tears, as Federer continued his flawless play to the very end of the fortnight.
The day even saw Federer shed tears of his own after making history (once again).
The win gave Federer his eighth Wimbledon crown (a new record). There has been nothing but praise for the 35-year-old's achievements:
His children, a set of seven-year-old twin girls and three-year-old twin boys, tried to steal the show:
But it was all about Federer:
"The tournament that I played without dropping a set is just magical, I can’t believe it. It’s too much really..." Federer said after the match.
"I hope I can come back next year and try and defend the title."
