When Trent Alexander-Arnold scored to clinch a shootout victory for England in the quarterfinals of the European Championships—in Dusseldorf, Germany—it didn't take long for jubilation to be heard in southwest London. Including on Centre Court:

The tournament previously announced that England's Euro 2024 games wouldn't be shown on screens in the grounds, even though they often clash with with the tennis and football is the country's favorite sport. But unless the All England Club chooses to run its event like The Masters, where cellular phones are barred, there's nothing it could do about patrons live streaming the match.

The celebration briefly interrupted Novak Djokovic's match with Alexei Popyrin, but the players didn't seem to mind. Keenly aware of what was taking place in mainland Europe, Djokovic took a shadow soccer kick, which Popyrin attempted to "save."

"I think the players know what's going on," said the commentator.
