Class Will Tell
It's late, and I'm working on just three hours sleep (just about 24 hours ago, I was making a complete fool of myself, singing Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love" - and drinking seemingly endless tequila shots - as a bunch of us helped celebrate the landmark 30th birthday of Tim Zinc, the deputy director of communications at the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. The airport shuttle was at my condo door in at Sandestin at 4:45 a.m. today. I'm fried!
But I had to post tonight to acknowledge the way Miguel "Mikey" Seabra stepped up while I was away to make sure TW's contest winners were well taken care of in my absence. His good work was above and beyond the call of duty, as well as absolutely critical because of the technical glitches and screw-ups (all of them mine, BTW) we ran into on this maiden voyage. We really flew by the seat of our pants and pulled the "I'm Going to Disneyestoril!" contest together very quickly.
I'll explain it all at greater length tomorrow. Right now, I just want everyone to know that those winners who chose to claim their prizes and attend Estoril are either there or enroute to Estoril, thanks entirely to Mikey diligently monitoring the blog while I was unable to log-on or email over my four-day hiatus.
In other words, everthing seemed to work great. Mikey is a class guy. But we already knew that, didn't we?
More tomorrow.
