Coco Gauff surpasses 20 million dollars in career prize money after winning WTA Finals
The 20-year-old is the first tennis player born in 2004 or later, male or female, to reach that prize money milestone.
It was a already a huge week at the WTA Finals for two of the best tennis players in the world, with Coco Gauff winning the title and Aryna Sabalenka clinching the year-end No. 1 ranking.
But now that their prize money cheques have dropped, there’s even more reason for both of them to be celebrating.
First of all, Gauff surpasses $20 million in career prize money.
The 2023 US Open champion came into the tournament with $16,776,989, and with her record-setting winner’s cheque of $4,805,000, she soars past that milestone to $21,581,989.
The 20-year-old American is the fourth tennis player born in the 2000s, male or female, to reach that career prize money milestone, and the first born in 2004 or later to do it.

Meanwhile, Sabalenka surpasses $30 million in career prize money.
The world No. 1 came into the tournament with $29,071,823, and by reaching the semifinals with a 2-1 record in the round-robin stage she earned $1,035,000, bumping her up to $30,106,823.
She’s the 10th player in WTA history to hit $30 million.
