Are you ready for some football? Coco Gauff is.
Less than 24 hours after winning her first Grand Slam title, the 2023 US Open champion traded the Queens hard courts for the New Jersey gridiron and stepped out at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night for "Sunday Night Football," a primetime showdown between the host New York Giants and the visiting Dallas Cowboys.
"It doesn't get any more exciting than this," Gauff said in a video that the team posted to social media.
While at MetLife, Gauff met current and former Giants stars including Saquon Barkley and Eli Manning.
Barkley, the Giants' leading running back, was one of the gaggle of celebrities who congratulated Gauff on her US Open victory.
Unfortunately for 'Big Blue,' the champ's presence did little to inspire them: The Giants were blanked by the Dallas Cowboys, 40-0, in their season opener.
But there was better news for Gauff's hometown Miami Dolphins, who came through in the clutch—like Gauff did in her come-from-behind win over Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open final—in a 36-34 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Gauff's New York tour continued into Monday as she did the rounds on network morning shows including "Good Morning America" and "Today."
Gauff told Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie in an exclusive interview on "Today" that her win still "didn't feel real."
"I think if it came easy, I wouldn't feel as appreciative as I did in that moment, clearly," she said.
"... I was like, 'It couldn't have been any more perfect than this moment,' and doing it in the U.S., in New York City, is just incredible."
