Donaldson attempts gelato tasting challenge

Sunshine, pizza, pasta and gelato—can life get any better than that? American Jared Donaldson took in the sweet flavors of Rome with a blind gelato taste test challenge.

"We don't have that in the States. I'm just a simple American," Donaldson said, after flavors like cream and mulberry threw him off.

It has been a tough few weeks on clay for Donaldson. After first-round losses in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, and Madrid, the 21-year-old drew a tough opponent in Rome, falling to No. 10-seeded Pablo Carreno Busta in three sets.

The world No. 55 will hope to secure his first clay win next week in Geneva ahead of the second Grand Slam of the year in Paris.
