Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina announce they are expecting a baby girl

The two tennis stars broke the exciting news to the tennis world in tandem on Sunday morning.

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina announced on Twitter on Sunday morning that they are expecting a baby girl in October.

The two tweeted the news out in tandem at 6:01am, Eastern Time:

Monfils and Svitolina, who got married in Geneva, Switzerland last July, are both among the most accomplished players on their respective tours at the moment. Monfils is a two-time Grand Slam semifinalist at Roland Garros in 2008 and the US Open in 2016, with 11 career ATP titles and a career-high ranking of No. 6—Svitolina, meanwhile, is also a two-time Grand Slam semifinalist, at Wimbledon and the US Open in 2019, with 16 career WTA titles and a career-high ranking of No. 3.
