Gavrilova forgets to enter Rome, has to play qualifying
The world No. 27 admitted to her error, and will have to win two
Sometimes even the pros make administration mistakes. As Daria Gavrilova just admitted, she forgot to enter the WTA Premier event in Rome so she's being relegated to qualifying.
The world No. 27 would have been a direct acceptance into the main draw, but now has to win two rounds to earn her spot.
The Twitter-sphere was quick to notice Gavrilova missing from the loaded field:
Gavrilova lost in the first round of Madrid this week, so she has plenty of time to settle in. Last year in Rome, Gavrilova stunned Simona Halep to reach the fourth round.
The qualifying draw begins on Saturday.
