Halep gets creative for 1970s birthday party

Simona Halep is hitting her fashion stride in 2018. The world No. 1 started things off by signing with Nike in February, and now she's showing she can throw it back with a 1970s getup.

The Romanian embraced the occasion to rock a jean skirt in honor of her team member Cosmin Hodor. He joined Halep about five months ago to serve as her communications manager.

Halep is currently in Madrid where she'll try to win the title for the third straight year.

Her first tournament on clay was Stuttgart last week where she lost in the quarterfinals to CoCo Vandeweghe.
