Hercog and McHale scale and explore Mount Eden

One of the best parts of traveling the world is exploring the local areas. Polona Hercog and Christina McCale, who are in New Zealand for the Auckland Open, did just that as they took a guided tour of Mount Eden, a landmark of the continent.
Their hike came long before a storm ravaged the tournament schedule on both Thursday and Friday, bringing flooding to the island nation.
The views from the top of Mount Eden were amazing and Hercog, currently ranked No. 100 in the world, couldn't help but be taken in by the sights and history.
"I think it's an unbelievable view and the guide was really nice telling us about the history of the volcano and, I have to say, I've never been to a volcano before so it's a great experience," she said.
McCale was knocked out in the first round by Taylor Townsend, while Hercog is scheduled to play Julia Goerges in the quarterfinals.
