Hopman Cup announces 2018 teams, led by Federer and Zverev

Japan is sending a team for the first time in 16 years.

The Hopman Cup will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2018 with a star-heavy field. Three Top 10 players will compete at the Perth Arena to kick off the new year and the new season.

World No. 2 Roger Federer will return with his '17 partner Belinda Bencic.

German is putting forth a strong tandem in Alexander Zverev and former world No. 1 Angelique Kerber.

Russia will have a blend of youth and experience with Svetlana Kuznetsova and Karan Khachanov.

Daria Gavrilova and Thanasi Kokkinakis will have the home advantage.

David Goffin is no stranger to team competition as he joins forces with Elise Mertens.

Canada will try to get 2018 off to a good start with Eugenie Bouchard and Vasek Pospisil.

Last year's finalists, CoCo Vandeweghe and Jack Sock, return for Team USA.

And for the first time in 16 years, Japan will be represented in Hopman action thanks to Naomi Osaka and Yuichi Sugita.

The Hopman Cup starts on December 30.
