In battle of young stars, Tsitsipas ousts Zverev to reach Madrid semis
The 20-year-old Greek notched his 26th victory of season, taking out young rival Zverev in a highlight-filled match.
Stefanos Tsistipas defeated Alexander Zverev, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2, to advance to the semifinal round in Madrid. Emotions ran high in a match that was filled with plenty of drama and exceptional shot-making. Tsitsipas now owns a 2-1 head-to-head advantage over the 22-year old German.
This marks the 26th win of the season for Tsitsipas. He will face Rafael Nadal in Saturday's semifinal.
