In Melbourne, Rod Laver lights New York City's One World Trade Center
This is the 50th anniversary of Laver winning his second calendar Grand Slam.
On Tuesday (Monday night in New York), Rod Laver pressed the button that lit up Manhattan's World Trade Center with the colors of the Australian flag. Laver is an Australian tennis legend, having won a total of 11 Grand Slam titles—with three of those coming in Melbourne.
