It's Not About the Money

TennisWorld regular reader Elizabeth Baum wrote to me this morning, asking:

You have to be pretty quick to beat SI and Tennis magazine’s Jon Wertheim to a story, and I’m the guy of whom a high school football coach once said, “He isn’t very big, but he sure is slow!” So it’s no surprise that Jon has already commented on the break-up of new U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters and her coach Marc Dehous in his ”ad-out" (boos and hisses) designation this week.

I’m trying to find out if there’s any more to this story from TennisWorld’s friend in Belgium, Bart Lagae. He's the ace tennis reporter for the major Flemish daily, De Standaard. However, Bart is going to have his hands full with Davis Cup this week, so we'll see.

Beyond that, I had a frank conversation with Nick Bollettieri earlier today on some aspects of coaching the superstars, and I’ll be posting on that in a few days time.
