Junior champions crowned at Roland Garros

Canada's Leylah Fernandez Wins Girls' Title

Leylah Annie Fernandez captured the junior Roland Garros title to become the first singles winner crowned in Paris.

The 16-year-old Canadian was the top seed and beat American Emma Navarro 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday. Fernandez was the top seed and also reached the final at the Australian Open earlier this year.

She's the first Canadian girl to win a junior Slam since Eugenie Bouchard won Wimbledon in 2012.

Holger Vitus Nødskov Rune won the junior boys' title over American Toby Alex Kodat, 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-0.
