Kerber celebrates Wimbledon victory in Stuttgart

After two weeks of dominating at the All England Club, Angelique Kerber has been soaking up her moment in the spotlight as a first-time Wimbledon champion.

As the first German in over 20 years to hoist the Venus Rosewater Dish—following in the footsteps of tennis legend Steffi Graf—Kerber was given a hero's welcome in Stuttgart. The city happens to be the home of the Porsche Museum, and Kerber is a Porsche ambassador.

The veteran lefty brought her shiny new trophy to speak to the local press for the first time as a Wimbledon champion, and a three-time Grand Slam champion.

Posing next to luxury cars somehow makes the Wimbledon trophy look even cooler than before, if possible.

There has even been talk that Kerber’s hometown of Bremen may name a street after her. The 30-year-old boosted her ranking to No. 4 after the fortnight.

Having won three different majors, Kerber is one French Open away from cementing her name in tennis history as a winner of the career Grand Slam.

Ten women and eight men in history have achieved the career Grand Slam.

Strokes of Genius is a world-class documentary capturing the historic 13-year rivalry between tennis icons Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It is timed for release as the anticipation crests with Roger as returning champion, 10 years after their famed 2008 Wimbledon championship – an epic match so close and so reflective of their competitive balance that, in the end, the true winner was the sport itself.
