Keys, Serena, more partake in Kinder Girl World Day
Tuesday marked the inaugural Kinder Girl World Day, an initiative led by Madison Keys and the organization Fearlessly Girl dedicated to stopping abusive online behavior by drowning it out with kindness and positivity.
Leading by example, Keys took to social media and encouraged her followers to send supportive messages about women who inspire them. She got things started herself by shouting out Serena and Venus Williams ...
As well as Sloane Stephens ...
Laura Robson ...
Michelle Obama ...
Meghan Markle ...
Chrissy Teigen ...
And Lindsay Davenport:
Before long, lots of other tennis stars joined in, including Billie Jean King, who recognized runner Caster Semenya ...
Stephens, who takes inspiration from Keys herself ...
Amanda Anisimova, who honored her sister ...
Pam Shriver, who thanked the "Original 9" WTA players ...
Serena, who complimented Shakira:
And Danielle Collins who had a whole slew of women to post about including Alison Riske:
Social media posts aren't going to solve all the challenges that girls and women face, but the barrage of kindness sure is refreshing.
