Madison Keys falls to Laura Siegemund, is latest Top 10 seed to lose at Wimbledon

Reiging Australian Open champion Madison Keys became the latest Top 10 seed to fall at Wimbledon on Friday, losing 6-3, 6-3 to German veteran Laura Siegemund in the third round.
The reigning Australian Open champion, seeded No. 6, hit 31 unforced errors to hit herself out of the tournament against the 37-year-old, who is through to the fourth round for the first time in six career Wimbledon main draws.
Keys' defeat marked the 11th for a Top 10 player in singles so far this Wimbledon.
The women's draw lost No. 2 Coco Gauff, No. 3 Jessica Pegula, No. 5 Zheng Qinwen and No. 9 Paula Badosa in the first round, and No. 4 Jasmine Paolini in the second. In the men's draw, No. 3 Alexander Zverev, No. 7 Lorenzo Musetti, No. 8 Holger Rune and No. 9 Danill Medvedev lost at the first hurdle, and No. 4 seed Jack Draper was upset by former US Open champion Marin Cilic in the second round on Thursday.

Siegemund, a former world No. 27, now owns 12 career Top 10 wins. She also defeated Olympic champion Zheng at the Australian Open in January. She will face lucky loser Solana Sierra of Argentina in the fourth round, a 21-year-old ranked No. 101 who had lost in qualifying, replaced a main-draw withdrawal at the last minute, and had never before won a Grand Slam main-draw match before this tournament.
