Matteo Berrettini recovered from abdominal injury and aiming to play Australian Open
The top-ranked player for Italy has entered the ATP Cup team competition.

Matteo Berrettini says he has recovered from the abdominal injury that forced him to withdraw from the ATP Finals.
The 25-year-old Italian retired during round-robin play against Alexander Zverev and did not play the following week in Davis Cup. But he has been training again and indicated he should return to competition in Australia in January.
"Fortunately, the injury recovered fairly soon," he said in an interview with La Gazetto. "I could do some very good training during these weeks of the off-season. I trained in Florida, with nice conditions and a lot of good players."
Berrettini made his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, won two ATP titles and reached a career-high No. 7 in the rankings this season. Now, it will be a matter of surpassing those milestones.
"I could work on what I need to keep improving," he said. "I have to learn to go more to net, and be more forward-moving in my game. And I have to keep working on my serving, so it stays a strength."
