Miami Open hosts pride night

On Sunday, the Miami Open showed its support for the LGBTQ community with Pride Night.

The evening, which featured a performance from DJ Citizen Jane and cocktail hour sponsored by the USTA Diversity and Inclusion Department, is a big step in the right direction for the tennis community.

Several present and retired players on tour identify as LGBTQ, including Johanna Larsson, Billie Jean King, Amelie Mauresmo, Martina Navratilova, Casey Dellacqua and Alison Van Utyvanck. Former world No.64 Brian Vahaly is the most high-profile player on the ATP to come out publicly.
