Mladenovic hits outright winner while falling down
The Frenchwoman advanced to the Birmingham quarterfinals.
Kristina Mladenovic, the fifth seed in Birmingham, was up a set against Shuai Zhang, but struggling to stay dominant in the second set when she whipped out a backhand winner while falling flat on her bum.
The world No. 12 was lucky not to turn her ankle during the slip, and after seeing where her shot landed, she had to crack a smile.
