Murray battles past Humbert to reach first ATP final in over two years
The world No. 243-ranked Scot will take on Stan Wawrinka in Sunday's Antwerp final.
It wasn't easy but Andy Murray battled back to beat Ugo Humbert 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 to reach his first ATP final in two years. He'll face Stan Wawrinka in the Antwerp final on Sunday.
Since coming back from hip surgery, the three-time Grand Slam champion won a doubles title in his first appearance in June (Queen's Club with Feliciano Lopez). But in five ATP-level singles events, he had just a 4-5 record going into Antwerp.
A more match tough Murray has been on display this week, winning two straight-set matches before fighting past Marius Copil in a tight three-setter. Back-to-back three-set matches is quite the test for the world No. 243. On top of managing his body, Murray also has some personal drama on his mind: his wife Kim Sears is expecting their third child any day now.
On Sunday, Murray will play for his first ATP title in over two years. He last won a singles crown in Dubai in 2017.
