Murray hangs out with soccer star Rooney at Citi Open

It didn’t take long for Andy Murray to feel at home in America’s capital. After arriving in Washington, D.C. for the Citi Open, the three-time Grand Slam champion got a visit from fellow Brit and D.C. United star Wayne Rooney.

The two even had time for a soccer-tennis match on the Citi Open Stadium court. They were joined fellow Brit and rising star Katie Swan, who is represented by Murray's sports agency.

Playing in just his third tournament in nearly a year,  the former world No. 1 is trying to raise his ranking back up from its current standing of No. 832.

After feeling not quite 100 percent fit to play at Wimbledon, the 2012 US Open champion got right to work at Rock Creek Park.

He even had time for a visit to the White House.

Unseeded Murray will face American Mackenzie McDonald in the first round on Monday.
