Nadal says Paris showing is "helpful" for London, will keep training
"Of course I wanted to win the tournament, but it's always difficult," the Spaniard, who has yet to win the Paris Masters title, said.
Rafael Nadal is turning his attention to the ATP Finals following his semifinal run in Paris.
Though he did not win his first title at the indoor event at Bercy, Nadal told press it "has been a positive tournament" that should help him next week in London. Nadal won three rounds prior to his defeat against Alexander Zverev.
"It has been not a bad tournament. I spent hours on court. Of course I wanted to win the tournament, but it's always difficult," he said.
"But I had the right attitude during the whole event, I think, fighting in every match. That gave me the chance to play four matches that I think will be helpful for London."

Paris was his first indoor tournament of the season, traditionally the most difficult conditions for the Spaniard. He has also yet to win the ATP Finals, also an indoor event.
But Nadal, who was coming off another title win at the rescheduled Roland Garros, was generally satisfied with his game going into the ATP Finals. Now he plans to keep training, saying, "I have one week and a little bit more to keep working, and I hope to be ready for it."
Nadal sits at No. 2 in the rankings, but has yet to capture the ATP Finals trophy.
