Australia Bound: Osaka, Goffin, Anisimova and more document their journeys

Amanda Anisimova lost her suitcase along the way.

The Break: Ep. 345:22

The 2022 season is just a few days away and the top players are heading Down Under. Many are documenting their travels:

Naomi Osaka

The four-time major champion hasn't competed since the US Open, instead focusing on her mental health. In 2021 she only played a total of nine tournaments, but still captured a Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. And she will defend her Melbourne crown:

David Goffin

Similar to Osaka, the Belgian ended his season in New York. Struggling with injuries and with his knee bothering him, he made the tough decision calling it a year after the US Open.

Amanda Anisimova

The American's trip over to Australia didn't go as smoothly as Osaka and Goffin's. While waiting to board her flight, she documented the extremely crowded airport that looked more like a concert venue.

The world No. 78 also lost her suitcase amidst the crowd.

Mackenzie McDonald

At last year's Australian Open, the world No. 55 reached the round of 16 before falling to eventual US Open champion Daniil Medvedev. The American was all smiles upon arrival, at least from the sight of his eyes:

Qiang Wang

China's Qiang Wang was also among the first arrivals in Melbourne. She is currently ranked No. 104 and lost in the first round last year to Sara Errani,
