The Australian, who has been on the sidelines after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in January, is targeting a return to action in Indian Wells.

WATCH: Nick Kyrgios and his physio Will Maher meet with press to discuss the knee injury that forced the No. 19 seed to pull out of the Australian Open ahead of his first-round match.

One of tennis’ biggest crossover stars, Nick Kyrgios is once again taking the sport where it’s never been before: this time, it’s to YouTube megastar Logan Paul’s ImPaulsive podcast.

Last year’s Wimbledon finalist posted a few teasers on social media of the upcoming episode, including a clip in which Paul introduced his guest as “the bad boy of tennis”—earning a wry smile from Kyrgios.

“[It] was a pleasure,” Kyrgios wrote on Instagram. “Definitely cut from the same cloth.”

The episode should make for an intriguing conversation between two controversial, but wildly popular, figures in their respective professions. In fact, Paul was named the highest-paid YouTuber in 2017, 2018 and 2021, but is currently one of several celebrities embroiled in legal action after promoting a failed crypto venture

Kyrgios, who recently settled a lawsuit of his own after pleading guilty to assaulting a former girlfriend and then having those charges dismissed, is on the comeback trail after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on left knee in January.

The injury caused him to pull out of the United Cup, where he was set to represent Australia on home soil in the event’s inaugural edition, as well as miss out on the Australian Open, where he was the defending champion in doubles alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Kyrgios is targeting Indian Wells as his first tournament back in action, according to his manager Daniel Horsfall.
