Nishikori and Osaka back Women's Sports Museum initiative
A one-of-a-kind museum aims to inspire girls to defy stereotypes, while recognizing women who gave their heart and time to break barriers through sports.
The Women’s Sports Museum is closing in on securing a permanent location in Sarasota, Fla. and looks to grow awareness beyond its local footprint to remain on course with its five-year plan to open.
Kei Nishikori, who trains at the IMG Academy in nearby Bradenton, and countrywoman Naomi Osaka, are showing their support by donating items to help make the vision a reality. Tennis fans have the opportunity to not only contribute to such a great cause, but own a pair of signed memorabilia: a pair of Nike's (Osaka) and Wilson racquet (Nishikori).
The online auction is open to the public and will end on Saturday.
