Nothing to see here: Nadal, Wozniacki handle their business quickly

Both Rafael Nadal and Caroline Wozniacki advanced to the second round of the Australian Open with routine victories on Monday.

The world No. 1 Nadal faced Victor Estrella Burgos in his first match at Melbourne Park, and he beat the veteran 37-year-old 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. Nadal looked as healthy as could be in this one, which is a great sign after how he looked in an exhibition loss against Richard Gasquet last week.

Nadal is a real contender to win the Australian for (just) the second time in his career, but his health is the main concern. Quick victories such as this one will certainly help him stay in the best possible playing shape.

Wozniacki, meanwhile, had to take on Mihaela Buzarnescu in the first round. She came away with a 6-2, 6-3 win in that one, not having to sweat too much.

It's well-documented that Wozniacki has never won a major, but the world No. 2 is confident that she can change that Down Under. Wozniacki ended the 2017 season in impressive fashion, coming away with the win at the WTA Finals. She's in great form, and now is as good a time as any for her to show the world that she has what it takes to win a Slam.
