Novak Djokovic probably holds more records than any other player in tennis history, and now he adds another one to the pile.

Today, the G.O.A.T.—who’s currently ranked No. 4—kicks off his incredible 860th career week in the Top 5, breaking the record for most career weeks in the Top 5 in ATP rankings history.

Roger Federer held the previous record with 859.

MOST CAREER WEEKS IN TOP 5 IN ATP RANKINGS HISTORY (incl. week of April 20th, 2026):

  • 860 weeks: Novak Djokovic
  • 859 weeks: Roger Federer
  • 837 weeks: Rafael Nadal

Official ATP rankings began in August of 1973.

Even more impressively, Djokovic has spent almost half of those 860 career weeks in the Top 5—428, to be exact—at No. 1, which is by far the most in ATP rankings history. Federer's next at 310.

NOVAK'S 860 WEEKS IN THE TOP 5 BY RANKING:

  • No. 1: 428 weeks
  • No. 2: 171 weeks
  • No. 3: 165 weeks
  • No. 4: 59 weeks (incl. week of April 20th, 2026)
  • No. 5: 37 weeks

So, he’s spent 49.8% (428) of those career Top 5 weeks at No. 1, as well as 69.7% (599) of them in the Top 2, 88.8% (764) of them in the Top 3 and 95.7% (823) of them in the Top 4.

And there’s another record on the horizon, too.

This week is Djokovic’s 939th career week in the Top 10, which is the second-most in ATP rankings history after Federer’s 968. If the 24-time Grand Slam champion maintains his spot in the elite, he could break that record as early as this November.
