Ostapenko outspells competition in WTA spelling bee

Apparently there's a connection between winning a Grand Slam and being a good speller.

In the WTA Spelling Bee, star players attempted to spell some of the longer names on tour, and Jelena Ostapenko and Caroline Wozniacki were the only ones to be even remotely successful.

Standing out from the crowd, they were both able to spell "Niculescu" when no one else could, albeit not on the first try for Ostapenko.

No one, though, correctly spelled "Bacsinszky."

Fortunately, the former Top 10-er didn't mind too much.

Ostapenko was then the only one to ace "Pavlyuchenkova."

This earned her a clapping emoji from Anastasia herself, who may want to update her display name now, as her 24-character name, previously too long for Twitter, is no longer over the site's limit.
