The return of Milos Raonic? Out since July 2021, former Wimbledon finalist enters 's-Hertogenbosch
Injury after injury has kept the 32-year-old away from the ATP Tour, but that could change come June.
While it’s been nearly two years since Milos Raonic last competed on the ATP Tour, the Canadian appears to be targeting a long-awaited comeback in June.
The former Wimbledon finalist has entered the ATP 250 event in 's-Hertogenbosch, which begins directly after Roland Garros wraps up.
Raonic’s most recent tour appearance came at 2021 Atlanta, where he dropped his opening match to Brandon Nakashima upon returning from a near four-month absence to nurse a thigh issue. The injury bug stayed with the former world No. 3, as an Achilles problem that resurfaced at that tournament proved difficult to overcome.
While rehabbing in May 2022, progress was stalled when a weight that landed on his foot ultimately broke a toe. The mishap occurred in Italy, not long after Raonic tied the knot with Camille Ringoir at a private Tuscan ceremony.
Coach Mario Tudor confirmed Raonic’s plans to play again were still on this past December, with hopes that his student would be back to action by early 2023.
Should all work out with the latest timeline of starting up again at the Libema Open, Raonic will contest his first grass-court match since 2019 Wimbledon. The 32-year-old is 372-175 lifetime on the ATP Tour with eight titles to his name—all on hard courts.
