PHOTOS: Nick Kyrgios, Andrey Rublev and more arrive in Hong Kong for UTS
The Aussie will coach Richard Gasquet and Coleman Wong will make his debut, as UTS heads to Asia for the first time.
Top players—and their signature nicknames—have touched down in Hong Kong as the fan-friendly Ultimate Tennis Showdown heads to Asia for the first time.
Andrey Rublev (“Rublo”) leads the field at the 2025 UTS Hong Kong, taking place October 14–15 at Kai Tak Arena, joined by hometown hero Coleman Wong (“The Chosen Wong”). Also competing are Francisco Cerundolo (“El Canon”), Adrian Mannarino (“Manna”), Richard Gasquet (“The Virtuoso”), Juncheng Shang (“Jerry”), Zhang Zhizhen (“The Night Watchman”), and Jenson Brooksby (“The Show”)—a late addition replacing the injured Alex de Minaur (“Demon”).

Fans will also see Nick Kyrgios (“King Kyrgios”) return to the court in a new role. The Australian, who has battled wrist, knee, and abdominal injuries in recent years, will make his debut as coach, teaming up with Gasquet in Hong Kong.
In the meantime, the 30-year-old has been spotted meeting fans around the city and even joined Hong Kong Cantopop star Eason Chan for a fun practice session ahead of the event.
Michael Chang, president of the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association and former world No. 2 and 1989 Roland Garros champion, said:
“The fact that the UTS selected the HKCTA and HK to host the first-ever Asian Ultimate Tennis Showdown tournament speaks volumes for the growing stature of Hong Kong’s tennis development and its international recognition as a leading sports and event destination…
“The inclusion of Coleman in the tournament represents the icing on the cake.”
Launched in 2020 by coach and entrepreneur Patrick Mouratoglou, UTS combines elite tennis with a high-energy, fan-focused atmosphere. Matches are divided into eight-minute quarters, with no second serves and sudden-death points to keep play fast and unpredictable.
Players are competing for the Zeus Thunder Trophy and a total prize pool of $1.1 million USD, with the winner taking home an estimated $306,000.
They’re also chasing qualification for the season-ending UTS Grand Final in London, which will be held December 5–7 at the Copper Box Arena and feature the top performers of the season.
