Pliskova aces local fan in Shenzhen serve challenge

Karolina Pliskova is in Shenzhen preparing for the WTA Finals, and she gained some confidence by schooling a local fan in the serve challenge.

"I feel sorry for him," the Czech said.

Pliskova returns to the year-end championship–played for the first time in Shenzhen—as one of the favorites. She's joined in the eight-player field by Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka, Bianca Andreescu, Petra Kvitova, Elina Svitolina, Simona Halep and Belinda Bencic.

Play in Shenzhen begins on Sunday.
