Racquet Preview: Tecnifibre T-Fight
The brand’s flagship franchise gets updated to be more maneuverable without losing the frame’s trademark balance of power and control.
Tecnifibre’s T-Fight is a racquet that lives up to its name. Whether slugging from the baseline or carving up opponents with precision, it’s a jack-of-all-trades frame that can adjust to any battle. And with seven models of varying weights in the line, it can suit players at just about every level of the game.
Looking to refine its formula even further, the latest T-Fight has undergone two notable changes from the previous generation. The first is the lay-ups on several models have been reworked to redistribute the frame’s weight. More of the racquet’s mass has been moved from both the handle and top of the hoop and pushed toward the throat of the racquet. This lowers the frame’s swingweight and increases its maneuverability. It’s most noticeable on the T-Fight 305—endorsed by Daniil Medvedev—which is now markedly more head-light and easier to swing.

Tecnifibre views this modification as a reflection of what’s been happening in the pro game. With ball speeds increasing, players have less time to react and produce quality swings. Each passing generation has seen frames 1) get lighter with lower swingweight for increased acceleration, and 2) have larger head sizes and more open string patterns for added power. Which adds up to bigger cuts at the ball and shots with more pace and spin.
However, lower swingweights can potentially translate into a less powerful and shakier racquet at contact. To make sure that’s not an issue with the new T-Fights, its beam has been slightly revamped. It still has the RS Section—a combination of a round and square shape—but it’s 4% larger for increased stiffness. This makes the racquet a bit sturdier and transmits more energy into the ball.
Another adjustment to the line is a few of the models bulked up in weight. The brand is most excited about the old 295g moving up to the 300g category. The range had previously lacked a 100 square-inch model at that weight class, which is a best-selling spec in the market. It’s part of Tecnifibre’s quest of making the T-Fight the ultimate racquet for the modern player.
The new Tecnifibre T-Fight launches on January 13 at tennis specialty retailers.
