Rafael Nadal doesn't plan on resting much during the clay-court season

There's no rest on the agenda for Rafael Nadal as he looks to keep up his domination of the clay-court season.

The No. 1 has played three weeks in a row, winning two singles points for Spain in Davis Cup, then capturing back-to-back titles at Monte Carlo along with Barcelona. Now, he gets a week off before returning for the Madrid Masters, which is followed by the Rome Masters and then, in another week's time, the French Open.

But Nadal, who had been sidelined with injury for several weeks before the clay-court season, isn't concerned about playing too much.

"Now is the time of year when I can enjoy day to day, play at home and rest a week and then play Madrid [again at home]. I'll think about resting following the French Open and Wimbledon," he told press at Barcelona.

Nadal has not dropped a set on clay this season, and with the Barcelona title, has won a record 46 consecutive sets on the surface.

"I am happy with the victory because it's difficult to have such a high level week to week," he said.

Nadal will be the defending champion at Madrid.
