1. In their most recent meeting, Federer captured the 2017 Shanghai Masters 1000 title with a comprehensive 6-4, 6-3 victory. Nadal did not seem too upset with this particular defeat.

2. Federer dispatched Nadal, 6-3, 6-4, to capture his third Miami Open title in 2017. The Swiss snagged his fourth Miami Open championship this year in March, defeating John Isner in straight sets.

3. In the quickest ever meeting between the two all-time greats, Federer dismantled Nadal, 6-2, 6-3, in just 68 minutes to reach the quarterfinals of the 2017 BNP Paribas Open. Federer went on to win his fifth Indian Wells title beating Stan Wawrinka in the final.

4. Pure elation: in perhaps the sweetest victory for Federer over his archrival, he stormed back after going down a break in the fifth set to capture his 18th Grand Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open.

5. In an all-time great day to be a ball kid, Federer enjoyed a few slices of pizza with his smaller compatriots after securing the 2015 Basel title with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win over Nadal in the final.
