Roger Federer plays tennis with "post-retirement look" during Uniqlo’s LifeWear Day in Tokyo

The recently-retired superstar was joined by Kei Nishikori, Shingo Kunieda and Gordon Reid for an array of fun activities at the Ariake Coliseum Saturday.

As the holiday season approaches, Roger Federer has been spreading cheer during his time in Tokyo.

Earlier in the week, Federer stepped out at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. On Saturday, he helped put smiles on faces during a special appearance for Uniqlo’s LifeWear Day.

During a panel discussion that supported the event's ambition to inspire future leaders, Federer shared some insight on how much life has changed since hanging up his racquet September’s Laver Cup.

“As a tennis player you’re always thinking about your next practice, your next match,” the 41-year-old said.

“It never lets you go, your next travel, your next packing. I don't think I was that much aware of it, how much that thought is always there, and it rides with you, until you retire and then you realize that stress all drops away.”

Federer was joined by fellow UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassadors and local favorites: Shingo Kunieda and Kei Nishikori. Gordon Reid also joined in the fun that included a clinic and exhibition, with all uniting in a familiar place, the Ariake Coliseum.

The venue has hosted a long-running ATP 50 event and served as the tennis site at the Olympics last year. Acting as a chair umpire at one stage, Nishikori asked Federer (in translated Japanese) why he was wearing a Rolex watch.

“It’s a look, post-retirement look,” responded Federer.

It looks good as ever, Roger.
