Morning. This is today's thread for following the tennis in Shanghai, and any other tennis-related issues of the day.

Today's two matches are between the two losers in the Gold Group on Sunday, Novak Djokovic and Richard Gasquet (at 9 a.am GMT/4 a.m. EST), followed by David Ferrer and Rafael Nadal, Sunday's two winners (no earlier than 11.30 GMT/6.30 a.m. EST). The winner of the second match seems very likely to be the first to advance to the semifinals in his group, though the final outcome could, of course, depend on the number of sets won and lost, with Ferrer currently leading his group, after a straight-sets win over Djokovic on Sunday. If Ferrer wins today, and Djokovic loses, the Serb is out. If Nadal wins, and Gasquet loses, the Frenchman would be out.
