Morning. Please use this thread for discussing today's tennis in Shanghai, and other tennis-related issues of the day.

It's the final. Roger Federer versus David Ferrer. The two have played seven times before now, and Federer has been the victor on each occasion. including two matches earlier this year. The first of those was in Monte Carlo, when Federer triumphed, 6-4, 6-0. The last time the pair met, in Hamburg, Federer won in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, the only victory so far in which the world number one has been extended beyond two sets.

Today, the match is best-of-five - new territory, as these two have never met in a Grand Slam. Roger Federer has been in big matches like today's many times before; today's match is the biggest of David Ferrer's life.

As for today's photo - it's the only one I've found this week that has a direct TennisWorld connection - Tari, CM, this one is for you (despite the shocking news that Tari has crossed over to the Ferru supporters' camp for today).

As always, enjoy the tennis.
