Sharapova joins the Therabody team as an investor

Maria Sharapova may not be hitting aces on the court anymore, but the five-time Grand Slam champion continues to strike winners off the court. On Tuesday, Sharapova announced she will be joining the Therabody family as an investor and strategic advisor.

"Since Therabody’s launch, they have continued to demonstrate they are on the cutting-edge of combining technology, fitness, and wellness, bringing more balance to people’s lives," Sharapova wrote on Instagram. "I’m thrilled to join the team as they continue their mission to transform and revolutionize the tech wellness space.”

The brand focuses on providing natural solutions so that customers can take charge of their daily wellness. The innovative brand is known for their "Theragun," which allows customers to soothe sore and aching muscles and relieve tension.

As a former professional athlete, Sharapova wanted more than just an investor role. Her expertise along with her ability to communicate with people from around the world has landed her a strategic advisor position with Therabody as well.

Sharapova has been dipping her toes in other business ventures inlcuding Bala Bangles and Sugargoop!, and let's not forget the 33-year-old also launched her own company Sugarpova in 2012.

The former world No. 1 has put the racquets down and her fists up. She's been throwing a lot of right hooks and uppercuts with celebrity trainer Tommy Cassano, spending enough time in the ring to be able to put together a compilation video.

There's no doubt the tennis icon will be using all of Therabody's recovery products when she's not boxing or running sprints in the California desert.
