After becoming a “Carnival Baby” during a dreamy trip to Jamaica, Sloane Stephens is back on the practice courts to continue preparing for the clay season.
Stephens has been posting up a storm on social media amid a whirlwind week, which began with the 30-year-old attending the White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington DC and ended with a colorful celebration in the Caribbean.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to Xodus Carnival in Kingston, which hosts Jamaica’s biggest Carnival celebration. Stephens, who is of Trinidadian descent, donned a stunning hand-made costume featuring feathers and jewels for the occasion.
“Officially a Carnival Baby!” she wrote. “Thank you @xoduscarnival you guys were amazing!!”

The player also shared a series of snaps of sunrises, helicopter rides, food, and more, including a chance encounter with Chance the Rapper.
By this week, Stephens was “back to our regularly scheduled programming” as she posted one final tweet of a green clay practice court on Tuesday.
Stephens’ break in the season comes as the 2017 US Open champion, currently ranked No. 50, struggles to produce consistent results. She owns a 5-8 win-loss record on the season, with her only back-to-back victories to date coming during quarterfinal runs at WTA 250 events in Merida and Austin.
The American, who also reached the 2018 Roland Garros final, is next scheduled to compete at the Mutua Madrid Open, which kicks off on April 25.
